CONFESS YOUR SINS & RECEIVE ASSURANCE OF PARDON

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

READ THE SCRIPTURES

Psalm 46

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Come, behold the works of the LORD, how he has brought desolations on the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

OUR NEED FOR GOD

A short message from our Pastor Jim Bryars on Our Need for God.

CONSIDER YOUR RESPONSE

For Adults:

What has Psalm 46 taught you about your need for God?

How has this pandemic caused you to see your need for God?

How will you cultivate greater dependence upon God?

For Children:

“The Lord of hosts is with us” v. 7

How do we know that God is with us? What are some ways we have seen God work in our family?

“We will not fear” v. 2

If we know God is with us, how does this take fears away? What is something I can do if I feel fearful today?

PRAY TO GOD

Pray for a greater awareness that you are fragile and need God.

Pray that God would use you in this time to serve others and lead them to God.

Pray that God would…

  • end the spread of the virus

  • protect those who are most vulnerable to the virus

  • protect and give strength to the medical personnel treating patients with the virus

  • grant wisdom to authorities around the world in addressing the virus & its effects
