Practicing Charity

At GRACE Community Church, we exist to disciple  people through a life changing encounter with the gospel of God’s grace.  We do that primarily in three ways: 1) by Presenting Christ to each other, 2) by Providing Community for each other, and 3) byPracticing Charity with each other.

Just as Presenting Christ and Providing Community are essential to the Christian life, so is Practicing CharityAt the heart of all Christian charity is Christ’s Great Commission to, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:18).  Because every person has the same dark history with the same dark problem (Ephesians 2:1,12), we take gospel, the only remedy, to every person (Romans 1:16).  There are many people with needs in our church, our city and in our world.  We have a mission and desire to not only preach the gospel in these broken places, but to also live the gospel there as well.  We long to take the gospel of God’s grace, in both word and deed, to our world.

At GRACE, one can get involved in many different service opportunities such as:

Hillsdale Community Center – For several years, we’ve had the opportunity to partner with the leadership of the Hillsdale Community Center to work with the students who gather there.  During the summer, we host one-day basketball and football sports camps, drawing in many local leaders to instruct and inspire all who attend. We also offer tutoring for the students every Wednesday afternoon at 4pm.

Trinity Gardens Bible Club – Each week on Wednesday afternoons, a few members of our church are involved in reaching out to share the gospel with the students of the Trinity Gardens’ community at the Dotch Community Center. They play games, have a snack, and discuss the word of God, all in an hour’s time!

Grace Community Church – There are always things to do around the church.  We commonly host church-wide dinners and events, where volunteers are always welcome and needed.
